How to care for your cake on collection

Your cake will be chilled prior to collection. If you will be travelling with your cake again after collection, we recommend chilling the cake until this time. Please chill your cake if it has fruit on it, if not consuming the same day.

Cakes should be kept flat during transport. If driving, please place your cake in the boot of your car, this is by far the safest place for it. Failing this the footwell by the passenger seat. If you place your cake on the seat or hold it during travel we cannot be held responsible for your cake not arriving in one piece.

In hot weather, you may need to refrigerate your cake after collection. During the summer every effort is made to make your cake more heat stable. Your cake is iced in buttercream or ganache, however, and chocolate and butter will melt in hot weather.

If your cake has a long journey please inform us when booking. This will need to be taken into account when designing your cake.

Finally, buttercream cakes can be fragile so please take care when handling them. We want your cake to be as beautiful when it reaches it's final destination as it was when you collected it from us here at Red Robin Pantry.
WEDDING PRICE LIST

All of our cakes are made up of four layers of sponge cake and filling, making them a minimum of six inches tall. Our wedding cakes are iced in a choice of velvety smooth Italian meringue buttercream or finest organic & fair trade Belgian chocolate ganache.
​
Many of our cake flavours are a little more unusual and involve us making flavoured butters, adding infusions, making homemade fruit curd and more, and therefore take time to prepare. We make all of our cakes and confections with locally sourced organic, free-range and ethically sourced produce where possible, and we only use sustainable, organic, fair-trade & rainforest alliance chocolate, sugar and other ingredients where possible. This does add to our costs when making your cake, but we feel that using ethical ingredients is worth a little extra.

2025 Pricing & Portion Guide
Below you will find our pricing guide for semi-naked and fully iced cakes along with the portion guides for each size of cake for finger portions and dessert portions. Our price list does not include decoration and is based on our classic vanilla sponge. The final cost of your cake will depend on the decoration style you choose, the flavours you opt for and delivery/set-up charges.

When enquiring about weddings beyond 2025 please be aware that we have to account for inflation in our costs when pricing our cakes. All prices below are 2025 prices. 2026 prices will be set at the end of summer 2025

It can be difficult to work out how much to budget for your dream wedding cake from starting prices alone. So take a quick look at a few of our past designs to get a better idea of the costs of different design styles.

All of these prices are based on our base cake flavours and on current pricing. Prices may vary in your final quote as we have to apply inflation to bookings beyond this year to account for changes in costs of ingredients, fuels and other overheads.

Single tier wedding cakes make a great option for elopement cakes or micro weddings. You can mix and match sizes and similar styles for larger weddings with wedding cake trios or incorporate them into a larger dessert table or display if you don't want a tiered wedding cake.

Edible Flowers &
Food Safe Flowers
We offer a range of decorations including fresh flowers sourced from our own gardens or grown for us by food-safe/edible suppliers here in Cornwall & Devon.
​
A full flower package of seasonal edible flowers to fully decorate a small 2-3 tier wedding cake costs £100-150. These can be tailored to your colour scheme.
​
​
If you'd like fewer blooms on your wedding cake or perhaps fruit or herbs this can be done for £50-100 for a small 2-3 tier cake. These can be added to your cake in posies.
​
Bespoke floral arrangements that include larger blooms such as roses, peonies, dahlias, etc. can be quoted for on request. These bespoke arrangements do cost more than our seasonal edible flower packages. Depending on the design these may be in the region of £100-200 or more. We can press or dry flowers for your wedding cake also.
​
Floral table dressing, arrangements and installations are also available on request if you would like to make your cake table and cake a real show stopper.
​
Painted Buttercream
One of our signature styles is impasto buttercream painting.
​
We can recreate your wedding bouquet or your favourite flowers on your wedding cake, paint ocean scenes or create abstract works of art.
Buttercream painted cakes can be created in both Italian meringue buttercream and vegan Italian meringue buttercream.

How Much Cake Do I Need???
Once you know how many guests you have, you then need to think about whether you plan to use your cake for your dessert or not? If you do then you will need to go for a larger size, so look at dessert portions on the pricing sections above for the different sizes of cakes.
​
If the cake is not to be used for the main dessert then it will be cut into finger portions. These are one inch square slices with four layers of sponge. Or your venue may opt to cut through each tier between the 2nd and 3rd layer and to give you 2 inch by 1 inch two layer slices.
​
Some couples like to keep the top tier for themselves, or opt for a larger cake so that there will be leftovers. cake freezes incredibly well. We can give you advice on freezing your leftovers if you decide you'd like to save some of your cake.
​
If you have 100 guests then the medium two tier would yield enough finger portions for all your guests, but without leftovers. You could opt for the medium three tier which yields 120 finger portions. You could then have three flavours, and take home what's left. If however you decide you'd like your cake as your main dessert then you would have to go for the large three tier which would yield 190 finger portions or 118 dessert slices.
Cake Stand & Knife Hire
Cake stands and knife sets are available to hire for your day. We charge £15 for the hire of stands and knife sets plus a refundable deposit based on the value of the stand. This ranges from £40 -£150 for stands, and £20-30 for knife sets.

Deposits are refunded following the safe return of your stand/knife set. You can post these or return them to us in person. If you require us to collect them, this will be charged at the delivery rate for returning to the venue, minus set-up costs. In the case of damage to the stand or knife-set a charge may be applicable.
​
If you would like to hire a stand please let us know when booking.
​
Stands, bowls, board and all other serveware will be quoted at the time of booking for dessert tables. In the case of dessert tables, we collect these the following day rather than you returning them, delivery charges apply for this service.
Booking Fee & Tastings
When you have decided you'd like us to make your cake or dessert table for your wedding you can opt to 'save the date'. The booking fee to save the date is £100, this includes your tasting and consultation. This does not include postage if you require postal sample boxes. We then conduct most of our tastings Jan - April of the year of your wedding. This is a good option if your wedding is over a year away, you can choose your flavour and design closer to the time as ideas can change.

If you would prefer to sample our flavours before booking then we offer postal or collection box tastings as the first step. These are £25 plus delivery if required. See our tastings and consultation page for more information. If you then decide to book with us you can upgrade to a save the date deposit if we have quoted you for a design. Please note, until this is received your date is not secured. The cost of your tasting box goes towards your booking fee. Booking fees are not deposits and non-refundable. Please see our term and conditions for more details.
Collection, Delivery & Set-Up
We offer collection for single tiered and our small tier cakes only. All larger tiered cakes are only available through delivery as they can be tricky to transport and often involve some decoration at the venue. So trust me you want to leave this to us, carrying a 10-25Kg wedding cake can be quite nerve-racking especially when it's buttercream. We have a chiller van to help keep things going nice and smooth on hot summers days.
​
In the month leading up to your wedding we will contact your wedding venue or planner to arrange delivery and set-up on the day. If you are hiring a cake stand we will bring this with us. If you are using a venue stand or your own this should be in situ, along with any toppers you are supplying (please inform us of this prior to set up as it may effect your design).
​
All cakes are chilled prior to transport for stability, so will arrive still cold, by the time you cut your cake it will have reached room temperature.
​
2025 delivery is charged at £0.95 per mile including the return journey back to Falmouth to cover our fuel costs and our time on the road. Delivery outside of Cornwall will be a minimum charge of £130. Please factor this when considering your wedding cake budget, we are based in Falmouth which is in the South West of Cornwall. We only deliver a limited number of cakes on a particular date. Due to the delivery times we cannot always accommodate weddings outside of Cornwall particularly in the the summer and on peak dates.
​
Set-up at the venue is charged at £15 per hour. This covers our time at the venue. Most wedding set-ups in Cornwall take 1-3hrs.
​
