How to care for your cake on collection

Your cake will be chilled prior to collection. If you will be travelling with your cake again after collection, we recommend chilling the cake until this time. Please chill your cake if it has fruit on it, if not consuming the same day.

Cakes should be kept flat during transport. If driving, please place your cake in the boot of your car, this is by far the safest place for it. Failing this the footwell by the passenger seat. If you place your cake on the seat or hold it during travel we cannot be held responsible for your cake not arriving in one piece.

In hot weather, you may need to refrigerate your cake after collection. During the summer every effort is made to make your cake more heat stable. Your cake is iced in buttercream or ganache, however, and chocolate and butter will melt in hot weather.

If your cake has a long journey please inform us when booking. This will need to be taken into account when designing your cake.

Finally, buttercream cakes can be fragile so please take care when handling them. We want your cake to be as beautiful when it reaches it's final destination as it was when you collected it from us here at Red Robin Pantry.

A rich, velvety and indulgent cake, made with 70% organic and cacao trace Belgian chocolate, sandwiched together with a velvety 58% dark chocolate Italian meringue buttercream and sprinkled with milk, dark and white chocolates shavings. SIZE OPTIONS: 4" three layer - serves 4-5 - £60 6" three layer - serves 8-10 - £85 8" three layer - serves 16-20 - £130 ALLERGENS: DAIRY; EGGS; WHEAT (GLUTEN). MADE IN A KITCHEN THAT HANDLES NUTS AND OTHER ALLERGENS. TRANSPORT: All cakes are chilled prior to transport. For collection orders or those who wish to transport their cake following delivery, place your cake in the boot of your car or in the passenger footwell. Make sure nothing can fall onto the cake box during transport. If possible, have the aircon on during warm weather. Please do not travel with the cake on your lap. Body heat will melt the buttercream. SERVING YOUR CAKE: Allow your cake to come to room temperature before serving. This may take a couple of hours. STORAGE: To store cut cake, please place in a airtight box or wrap in clingfilm to prevent the cake drying out. Exposed cake will dry out in the fridge. If your cake has fresh fruit or flowers, these may not keep for this full duration and may need to be removed to store leftover cake. SHELF LIFE: All cakes have a shelf life of 5 days. PLEASE NOTE: Our made to order cakes are shorter than our cakes listed in our wedding cake price list at three layers of cake rather than four, this along with reduced admin costs of set designs and online ordering reduces the costs. All of our made to order cakes come as described. We do not offer customization other than that mentioned in the booking. If you would like something other than what is offered in our set designs and flavours please email info@redrobinpantry.co.uk for a bespoke cake quote. When ordering please select your date and delivery/collection time. Please inform us as soon as possible if you will be late to collect you cake. Evening collections may be possible. Please contact us to confirm this prior to booking. Local delivery must be selected separately from the main made to order page. If you do not do this we will assume you will be collecting the cake. This covers delivery within Falmouth and the surrounding areas, including Penryn, Budock Water, Swanpool, Maenporth etc. Flushing and St. Mawes are not included in our delivery radius.
Cancellation Policy
All online cake orders are paid for at the point of ordering. For online made to order cakes we allow free cancellation or rescheduling up 72hrs before the collection/delivery time. After this time we may still be able to reschedule depending on our availability, please email info@redrobinpantry.co.uk.
