BOOKING YOUR WEDDING
CAKE WITH US

Postal/Collection Wedding Sample Boxes & Video Consultations

Enquiries

Once you have booked your wedding venue it's time to start thinking about your wedding cake and dessert table if you plan to have one. For peak season I would suggest aiming to do this at least a year before your wedding as dates fill up fast. Prior to making an enquiry with us, we suggest you take a look through our price list page as well as our design & decoration page to ascertain if we are the right fit for you and your wedding.  You can fill out our contact form at the bottom of the page or pop us an email at info@redrobinpantry.co.uk.

We no longer take bookings for weddings October - December due to Christmas Market conflicts.

Thank you!

Reserving Your Date

Once you've decided that we are right for you the next stage is to reserve your date. We offer a save the date option to book your date. Save the date deposits are £100, this is a non-refundable deposit and goes towards the final cost of your cake or dessert table.

We understand that some couples prefer to try before they book, we offer postal sample boxes which include six flavours to try. These are £25 and are available for collection from us in Falmouth or we can send these out to you next day delivery to arrive by 1pm on your nominated day for an additional postal fee. These tastings boxes are usually separate to your tasting and consult that we conduct in the run up to your wedding, which is included with all tiered wedding cake bookings. (see below)

Please be aware that during peak summer months and during our busy Christmas market period, tasting boxes may not be available for several weeks, as these are very busy times for us and we are just a small team of two.

Once you are booked in that is it until it's time to arrange your tasting & consult.

Tastings & Consultations

Your tasting and consult is included with all tired wedding cake bookings and wedding cake trios. For single tiered wedding cakes we do charge an additional £25 for your samples if you wish to have a tasting.

We conduct most of our tastings and consultations in Jan-March of the year of your wedding for late spring - autumn weddings, for late winter-early spring weddings we usually conduct these in the autumn. We have found that it is better to conduct these tastings 6-9 month prior to your wedding to give you time to flesh out your ideas and themes for the wedding as a whole. That way you are not making decisions too early, as other aspects of your day can affect what you'd choose and can lead to redesigns and other changes.

IN PERSON TASTINGS - To be conducted at Red Robin Pantry HQ here in Falmouth. You’ll have the chance to try some of our cake flavours and chat about your themes and visions for your wedding cake. Additional flavours and guests are possible at in person tastings. Additional flavours are charged at £3 per flavour, if you would like to bring family members or friends to your tasting, we change £10 per person for extra portions of each flavour you choose. Due to limited space we can only accommodate up to four people at your tasting, however we can put together a box of samples for you to take away if you require this.

For late bookings please be aware that from April onwards, generally, we require 2-4 weeks notice to arrange consultations. Fridays and Saturdays are often busy for us at this time, so we will have less availability on these days.

POSTAL TASTINGS & VIDEO CONSULTATIONS - For those who are unable to visit us in person we offer postal tasting boxes. Our tasting boxes include 6 flavours to try with two servings of each flavour. We cannot send extra flavours in our boxes, however you are welcome to add additional postal boxes if you would like to try more flavours or if you would like to send samples to family members also. We charge £25 for additional postal boxes, your first postal box is included as part of your deposit. Postal boxes do incur an additional charge for delivery, these are sent out next day nationwide delivery to be delivered on your nominated day Tues-Fri (£9.95), or Saturday (£15.35 - 2024 pricing). A follow up video consultation will then be arranged after your tasting to discuss your thoughts and themes for your wedding cake.

Your Cake, Design & Quote

Following your consultation we will finalise your cake flavours, style and size with you based on your requirements. Once you are happy with your choices we will begin a mock up of your design for approval, and finally send over a quote for your design.

Three Month Check In and Final Balance

Roughly three months prior to your wedding we will check in with you to confirm you are still happy with your design, and to confirm final colour palettes for floral arrangements if these were not confirmed at your consultation. We will then put together your final balance invoice that will be due 6 weeks prior to your wedding.

We will also chat to you about other considerations for your day such as:-

- Cake stand & knife hire

- Cake signs & toppers

- Cake boxes for guests to take away cake.

- Where best to position your cake table and other logistics.

- Confirm who your wedding planner/venue coordinator is so we can contact them to arrange set up on the day directly. If your wedding is at a private residence, we will arrange this directly with you.

Set Up On The Day

Set up on the day will be organised directly with your venue or wedding planner. They will confirm a time slot for on the day when we can come in and set up your cake and/or desserts. This is usually prior to your arrival so you are unlikely to see us on the day. However, sometimes this may be during a room change around depending what you have arranged with your venue.

All cakes are delivered by us in our Red Robin Pantry fridge van, so we can keep your cake safe during transport even on the hottest days.

On the day we will come in and set up your cake. Some designs such as those with real flowers or fruit require us to decorate the cake in situ, so we can be at the venue for several hours getting your cake ready. If you are providing your own toppers or cake stands, please make sure these are left out ready for us. We'll leave small cake cards for each of your tiers and any other desserts or cakes that you have. These include any standard allergens plus and unusual ones you have informed us of, so your guests can check which cakes they can eat. Some couples like to have their own cake menu, in which case we will leave cake cards with the venue to be put out when the cake is cut.

Following Your Wedding

We like to give you plenty of time to settle into married life after your wedding, so we usually wait several months before we officially check in with you. Though you may hear from me via social media or a quick email before then. We love to see photos from your day, so we also find this gives your photographer plenty of time to get those over to you.

Make An Enquiry

I am currently taking bookings for 2025/26. Please not that the summer is a busy time for me as this is peak wedding season. From September-December I start to ramp up for Christmas markets, so I get busier the closer we get to Christmas. All consultations and tastings are conducted between Jan-May of the year of your wedding, unless your wedding is very early in the season. I can offer tasting boxes throughout the year prior to booking (except Nov-Dec), please not during busy periods there may be a delay of several weeks for these as I have to prioritise current weddings and events. Thank you!
